![]() ![]() The rpg maker has most of the difficult stuff already done, the menus, the messages, the battles, the stats. Me and an internet programmer made this about a year ago, I did the camera work and the graphics, looking pretty bad especially the menus. It should be possible with a bit of work to create something that looks nearly identical to final fantasy 7, 8 or 9. It would be easy to fake 3d in battles, you just render out frames from a 3d character who walks into the picture towards the sprites that are lined up in the distance.Īnyway if someone is good at scripting I could help you out with the 3d graphics. Render out a special sprite from a 3d character and you would end up with something that look very much 3d right. You use the second layer to add sprites that the character could walk behind. I think it could be possible to have this work. At the squares at the bottom the sprite would be big and at the squares at the top the sprite would be small.Ĭould the character walk in 8 directions with pixel movement, so he isn't restricted to stand in one of the squares. Then somehow make the character sprite change size as he moves towards the horizon or up the 2d grid. What if you put a panorama image as a background, this would be the landscape that the player would walk through. ![]() Remember the old final fantasy games with the pre rendered backgrounds. I'm trying to think of how you would achieve the illusion of 3d in the rpg maker. ![]() However, someone on another forum suggested we export linear FCurves instead of cubics. I already have a working 3Dstudio ASE importer and skeletal animation system) (I was hoping to let 3dStudio do this for me - this project is to upgrade existing 3Dstudio models While I sort-of understand what these represent, I can still find nothing on the Web that shows in any kind of detail the maths behind these and how to derive the bone matrices from them. What confused me at first was the cubic FCurves, with the mysterious left and right tangent values. (for anyone who’s interested, here are two tutorials on how to do this using the XSI FDK: I am building my own parser in Java and I don’t foresee any major problems there. I think I’m on top of grabbing the geometry etc from the dotXSI file. You need to decide what’s important, have a way to grab it and coordinate with your artists so that the whole procedure is as smooth as possible. It depends on what you need from the model, but generally no. Then you build the bone matrices, which is a little tricky to get right (you need to properly combine the current bone transformation, basepose transformation and everything above it in the whole skeletal hierarchy), but it’s not too much code.ĭoes something need to be done to the models in SI before exporting? It’s really simple, you just do an interpolation of the animated value (rot-x, pos-y, etc) based on the fcurve and the current time and you’re done. Except from some optimization (no-op FCurves, no-op keyframes), the exported data is exactly what you see in an SI_FCurve template: keyframes and their respective values (and interpolation values, if present for cubic curves).Īt runtime we use the fcurves to animate the bones. ![]() Then we get the XSI_Actions from the XSI_Mixer and export the SI_FCurves. From a dotXSI file we first grab the geometry, the skeleton (most importantly, root and joint basepose and SRT transforms) and the envelope weights/indices, and after some processing/optimization we write them to our custom files. It was simple to implement (the SDK docs are very helpful), although another option would be to implement a binding directly to their C++ SDK.įor skeletal animation we use XSI’s Actions. It supports all of the dotXSI v3.6 templates, which IIRC is what XSI 3.5 up to 4.2 export. We’ve built a full dotXSI parser for our project and we’re using it in our pipeline tools. Has anyone had any experience in extracting keyframed skeletal animation from a Softimage v4.2 dotXSI file? The species is found in a variety of forest environments, from rainforest to woodland and partly cleared farmland. The species was found in high numbers across the entire survey area. Sulphur-crested Cockatoos are considered a pest in some urban situations, as they can damage wood decking, panelling, and sometimes window and roof eaves. They are listed as an official Native Household Pet Animal. Secure, not listed under the EPBC Act 1999. Conservation (Pet/Pest) Status - National Numbers are highest in autumn and winter with numbers dropping in spring as they retreat to the mountains to breed. Conservation (Pet/Pest) Status - Regional They are also found in New Guinea and the Aru Islands and have been introduced into New Zealand and Indonesia. The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo's range extends across Eastern Australia, Tasmania and Northern Australia, with a small population around Perth. The Gang-gang Cockatoo ( Callocephalon fimbriatum) and the Yellow-tailed Black-Cockatoo ( Calyptorhynchus funereus) are similar in size and shape, however their dark plumage makes them very easy to differentiate. Very loud, some consider unpleasant screeches: 'airrrik, aarrrk, ahrk, aieirrk, aieirieik!' Similar Species Survey TechniquesĬall and visual identification. The species is loud and conspicuous both in flight and resting and is common in large eucalypts around Canberra. The males, females and young look almost identical. It has a distinctive bright yellow crest, yellow feathers on the underside of the wings and tail and a large, wide, dark grey beak. The Sulphur-crested Cockatoo is a large white parrot 45-50cm in length. Sulphur-crested Cockatoo, White Cockatoo Distinguishing Features ![]() Suburban gardeners should ensure that yards are free from any seed bearing weed species. Within the suburbs, Cockatoos are attacked by the smaller but more aggressive Common Mynas ( Acridotheres tristis). This species has adapted particularly well to the partial land clearing of the region and does not seem to have problems finding nest hollows, food and water. Cockatoos can spread the seeds of weed species to adjacent woodland. All are good, but after the beauty of the main features, they seem a bit ordinary, (especially the Dive to Shark Volcano) like something you'd see on the Discovery Channel, although admittedly, with better footage. Other feature programs include Amazon Abyss, Dive to Shark Volcano, and Being There: Antartica and Being There: Between the Tides. The extras are fun, too, as they take us behind the scenes for each episode and give us some insight into the work - and patience - needed to get this incredible footage. Spent like a year having to restart my computer if I wanted to change the brightness at all. ![]() I had to uninstall and reinstall both monitors in Windows Device Manager, uninstall and reinstall my USB-C hub (which I have my external monitor plugged into), fiddle with settings in nvidia control panel, and restart like 3 times before all the sudden everything clicked and my PC is normal again. ![]() Then it wouldn't send anything to my external monitor unless I was duplicating the displays. It also saw my laptop display as capable of only 1 hz (!!!) refresh so it was like using an e-ink screen or some shit. It reset all the nvidia control panel settings. It was a sketchy process that made me feel like my computer was fucked for about 45 minutes. Just wanted to add my experience to this helpful thread.īios update fixed the brightness problem for me. But yeah, if the old driver is fine for your current needs, I'd just stay there. If you need to upgrade your card for gaming, I'd look into PangoBright. Obviously not as good as just having the fucking toggle work. I can pick and choose which monitors to dim. It's lightweight and works well with my multiple monitor setup. Flux wasn't able to handle multiple screens independently, but I found something called PangoBright: was recommended in another Reddit thread. I've tried some third party screen dimmers/modifiers. However, with the slim 7's we have to manually restart the computer each time we go in and out of hybrid mode - I don't want to leave it on when I'm gaming because it apparently decreases performance. This forces the system to use the iGPU when out of game, so the brightness toggle works. One thing that works is putting your Lenovo in "Hybrid" mode - using Lenovo Vantage. You might want to compromise between color accuracy and brightness for general use or if you use the computer for graphics work only occasionally, load the gamma utility only when needed.Yeah, it really sucks. Also, the settings are typically done by eye using some on-screen tools and it is easy to make inaccurate settings, which may result in the screen being darker than necessary. This article covers all 7 ways to adjust the screen brightness level on a Windows 11 computer, where one of the methods only applies to an external monitor attached to your system (OSD menu). These can reduce the overall screen brightness, which may be necessary to enhance the visibility of very dark or very light colors. On Battery Only: Adaptive brightness control will only be activated when the device is on battery power. The one for Photoshop is called Adobe Gamma Loader. Some graphics software, like Photoshop, offer a screen gamma adjustment utility to fine tune the brightness of the individual colors for more accurate graphics work. ![]() You can sometimes buy a little time before the need for repair or replacement by maximizing the contrast and/or brightness settings on the monitor, itself. Drag the Brightness slider to adjust the screen brightness on your Windows 11 PC, as per your needs. Here, you will see the brightness slider at the top. Next, under the System menu, open Display in the right pane. The display can sometimes appear good when it is turned on and then fade as it warms up. Press Windows + I to open the Settings app instantly. As LED/LCD displays age, one way they can start to fail is to lose brightness and/or contrast. On many laptops, the screen brightness cannot be set to be as bright when on battery power as when plugged in.The issue of screen brightness is not always something that can be changed with a brightness setting.
